August 31, 2018

New York City is an awesome place to visit. There are countless museums, parks and historical sights to see and plenty of restaurants with authentic foods to try out. The city is rich in culture and neighborhoods with their own ethnic vibe. New York is a vibrant city with a plethora of things to see and do regardless of the time of day. If you are planning a trip to New York City, here are five things you should do before you arrive:

Plan your trip

Decide on the time of year that you want to visit the city. Are you taking your trip in the spring, winter, summer or fall? Each season in the city has something special to offer with different attractions and events. During the summer there are street festivals and concerts held in the parks. In the winter, Rockefeller Center is the main attraction for tourists because of the gigantic Christmas tree.

Research New York City

Go online and look up where you want to go when you arrive in New York. Is there a specific area that you have been dreaming of seeing? The Statue of Liberty is a historical site that has millions of visitors every year. The statue was given to the United States by France and is a staple in American history. It is accessible by subway, bus, car or ferry.

Find a place to stay

There are many places to stay in New York City, including hotels, private rentals, hostels and bed & breakfasts. You may also want to do some research and learn about the different neighborhoods in the city. Every area has something special to offer and provides a unique view of New York, and you can walk or take a cab when necessary.

Make travel arrangements

Once you have the dates of your trip confirmed, book your trip. Reserve your lodging and travel arrangements as soon as possible. New York City is one of the most visited cities in the world, so you want to make sure you have your trip reserved ahead of time. If there are any popular restaurants or site that require reservations, be sure to secure those reservations too.

Create an itinerary

Before you come to New York City, having your itinerary planned out is extremely helpful. Planning will keep your trip organized and ensure that you stay on schedule. You don’t want to miss out on seeing any of the sites in the city while you are there.
